More information on Neanderthal

In a follow-up to a previous blog posting

James Churchward’s theories about the discovery of Neaderthals and other hominids was:

In their excitement over the discovery of a few old human bones, such as the Neanderthal, Piltdown, and Heidelberg man, scientists, in both Europe and America, have completely ignored and cast aside the remains of ancient man in North America. That the European remains were those of idiots and degenerates is obvious from the abnormal shapes of their skulls. Doubtless they were outcasts from civilized communities…
Lost Continent of Mu Motherland of Men, page 171.

However, news indicates that perhaps the Neanderthals were not such brutes after all and there is even a possibility (however slim,) that the technology for lissoirs or smoothers, was passed from the Neanderthals to humans. The tool made animal hides tougher and more water resistant.

Some of James’ writings were colored by his rejection of information he deemed to be ‘poppycock’ or just plain stupid.
In this category, lies “the sun is a hot body” and evolution theories. As our information grows and changes the paradigm, we will hopefully develop enough wisdom to recognize that we will never have the full story. We can get closer to the truth or farther away, depending on where we allow our preconceived notions to take us.

Have a great day.

Another Legendary City Found

According to the article “Have archaeologists discovered the mysterious lost city of gold, Ciudad Blanca?” in the Independent (UK) another legendary city may have been discovered.

Some say the legend reaches back into antiquity to the pre-conquistador inhabitants and others say it was perpetrated by those that had fallen under their control to get the Spaniards looking elsewhere. The first documented reference appears to be from Hernan Cortez in 1526, who, in a letter to the Emperor Charles V, told him of a city filled with gold that was hidden in the jungle. All attempts to find the city proved fruitless, except a few 20th century explorers that have found mounds and structures in Honduras.

Currently, mainstream archaeologists discount that the White City ever existed, however an expedition to the area later this year (2013) could change our understanding again.

Have a great day.

Still Another Sunken City

In the article, “Secret Streets Of Britain’s Atlantis Revealed,” the author reports on the recent efforts using underwater sensing equipment to reveal the ancient town of Dunwich, what once was a thriving port during the Middle Ages.

Known as Britain’s Atlantis, the town was almost the size of London and now lies three to ten meters below the surface of the sea.

Yet another sunken city reveals its secrets.

Have a great day.
